Process
The client truly is the start and end point of every project. Our focus the entire time is to maximize the function, comfort and aesthetic of the finished space. We dig deep into the details of how you live; what works for you currently, what doesn’t, what stage of life you are in now, what is potentially going to change and we keep you at the forefront of all suggestions and recommendations. The biggest compliment we can receive from a client is “this space is so me”. When the job is complete we want our client’s homes to be a true reflection of them; we want it to function flawlessly, be as comfortable as an old pair of shoes and look like a million bucks.
Drafting Work
As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words or in this case a good comprehensive plan is worth a thousand words. If doing a new build or fairly sizable addition we will work with your architect or start directly after your plans have been issued. We will then do a take off of the those plans and start to tweak and develop the spaces.
We pay particular attention to the kitchen, bathrooms, closets, and the mudroom; the high use areas that need to function well. We will also develop a furniture plan for the entire home or space we are working on and do an in depth electrical plan which shows where the fixtures, outlets and switches are to go and how they should operate. After that we get into cabinetry design and doing any elevations required for fireplaces, closets, tile detail, paneling or any other special feature.

At the same time we are putting together your drawing packages, we are also pulling options and working on the selection for all your finishes: flooring, tile, countertop, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, cabinetry hardware, interior doors, trim work, wall paper, paint colors, etc. This is where we really get to dig into the aesthetics and start to shape the overall feel and look of the home or specific space. We call this, ‘the fun stuff!’.

The fun doesn’t stop there, we’re also here to help with sourcing furniture, window treatments, rugs, lamps, art, accessories; you name it, if it goes into your home we are happy to help source it.
These finish details have a huge impact to personalize the space and really make it feel like home.

And Implementation
We are there with you or in place of you, every step of the way. We work closely with the builder and we provide them not only with the drawings they need but also the finish schedules for flooring, paint, lightins, etc. We work closely with the trades and suppliers to make sure all the details are attended to and we help with quoting and budgeting by gathering quotes and doing costing summaries for items outside of your builders scope.
We have built strong relationships with several local builders, trades and suppliers, who enjoy working towards the common goal of getting the best possible outcome for the client. The best outcomes appear when a true collaboration is established between builder, designer and client.
